I feel like I've been blasting through my books in the last couple of months. Although somehow I'm still 2 books behind schedule on my Goodreads challenge, hopefully I'll get lots of reading done on holiday (I go on Wednesday eek!). So here's a little round up of the last 3 books I read.
I'm sure you'll all know of this book, I've been meaning to read it for ages, I saw the film when it came out a few years ago. It's set around young girl Susie Salmon, who gets murdered by one of her neighbours, she narrates it from her version of heaven and you see the fallout from the events. I think this book is really well written, it captures the atmosphere perfectly. It's a really interesting read.
I haven't yet seen the film based on this book, but from seeing the trailer I knew I'd give the book a read before it comes onto Sky! It's based on a mother and her son who live captive in a room after she was kidnapped years earlier. It's from the point of view of the 5 year old son and it's such a great book. It's dark but also finds finds humour. It's a really honest story filled with tension and I'd definitely recommend it.
Set around Nora who hasn't seen her friend Clare in ten years, until she gets invited to her hen do, in a cabin in the middle of the woods in Northumberland. I'd definitely recommend this if you're a fan of thrillers, there's twists and turns and it's creepy and scary at times but it's a great read!
