A couple of weeks ago I pre-ordered Tanya Bakes by Tanya Burr. I really like Tanya and I knew her book would be full of lovely baking recipes and it's been ages since I had a new baking book. I was really impressed with it and it's filled with lots of gorgeous recipes. I decided to give something a go from the book with my own twist and settled on Giant Nutella Sea Salt cookies. I say giant as I halved the recipe for 10 and still made 9 humongous ones! So big that they may have touched each other a bit...But the salty chocolate mix is so yummy and they're so easy to make, just make sure you spread them out well!
100g unsalted butter, softened
150g caster sugar
165g self raising flour
1/2 tsp sea salt
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C/Gas Mark 4. Line 2 trays with greaseproof paper.
2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in the egg until combined and add the flour and salt until a dough forms. Add the Nutella and marble it through with a knife.
3. Divide the dough into 9 tablespoon sized balls and place them on the trays with plenty of space in-between. Sprinkle with sea salt and bake for 12 minutes.
4. Leave to cool on the trays for 5 minutes before placing onto a wire rack to cool fully.
