I'm a huge hot chocolate lover, I don't think there's anything better than curling up with a hot chocolate on a cold winter's day, I swear they taste even better in the run up to Christmas! This is called Best Ever Hot Chocolate for a reason, it's so thick and creamy and totally indulgent, definitely one for Christmas Eve!
I also think this makes a really nice Christmas present, I've made mine in a mason jar and added a little festive tie and a label which I think is super cute! This recipe makes about 6-8 servings of hot chocolate, per mug of milk I use one heaped tablespoon of mixture.
2 tablespoons cornflour
3 tablespoons icing sugar
4 tablespoons cocoa
100 g good-quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), finely grated
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 pinch sea salt
1. Add all the chocolate mix ingredients to a jar and give it a shake to combine.
2. Pour the milk into a large pan, and bring almost to the boil over a medium heat. I just use the mugs I will be drinking from to measure the milk.
3. As mentioned above, use about one heaped tablespoon of mixture per mug of milk.
4. Spoon the chocolate mix into the hot milk, give it a whisk and leave to bubble away for a few minutes before serving. It will be thick and yummy!
