Recently I've been on a little bit of a health kick, check out my recipe for Healthy Banana Muffins, I'm just trying to make some changes and not eat too much refined sugar. One of the worst culprits for this is cereal, when I've been scouring the shelves it's so hard to find any cereal without a tonne of added sugar, even the "healthy" options! So I decided to give making my own granola a go! It's so easy! I've thrown in a couple of serving suggestions too! 

Makes 1 Large Jar - 

Ingredients - 

2 tbsp vegetable oil
125ml maple syrup
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp cacao powder
Sprinkle of cinnamon
300g rolled oats

Additional ingredients for serving suggestions -

Greek Yoghurt
Sprinkling of desiccated coconut
Fresh Mint
Almond Milk

Method - 

1. Preheat oven to 150 degrees C. Mix the oil, maple syrup, honey, cacao powder, cinnamon and oats in a large bowl.

2. Place on 2 baking sheets, spread out evenly and bake for 15 minutes then stir and bake for another 5-10 checking it doesn’t burn. 

My first serving suggestion is just a simple bowl with almond milk and blueberries, super yummy! 

My second suggestion is a little bit more Pinterest...I've layered the granola with greek yoghurt and strawberries, then repeat! I sprinkled desiccated coconut on top and finished it with a sprig of fresh mint!
